The End of this Phase

Tomorrow, we're heading home. It's been a while since we left, over 6 weeks since we headed west.  We've seen some stuff... We've also seen some shit. People in this country can be amazing or down right awful, but it's been a wild trip for sure.  Austin-wise, I think we'll need to come back post COVID. While we used Denver mostly as a base to go hiking and exploring, it seems like the jam in Austin is more social, so I think we're not really getting the whole sense is this place. I'll tell you though, it is NOT flat. I went for a bike ride and damn! Those were some hills.  Most of our time was spent trying out different Texas meat specialties: bbq, tacos, etc. We also got some rather solid sushi with friends this week, which was a nice change of pace from all the red meat! And the girls got to play with discuss chickens (live ones) while the adults played catch up.  I am looking forward to getting home, but this trip has helped us all learn a lot: - that

So Much Meat

When in Texas ... Eat meat! We've had awesome fajitas, 2x BBQ, and at this point .. I just want a salad! The food has been very solid, but my cholesterol medicine is having trouble keeping up.  We got settled into our Austin house yesterday, and today was back to the work grind. We did find time to head down to the lake and get our feet wet.  Austin is hilly!! Looking forward to getting a bike ride in sometime this week.  TTFN!

Adios, Denver. Aloha, Austin!

We left Denver this morning, on to the next leg of our adventure. Denver was AWESOME. Everyone had a great time, and I think we made the most of our time there. This morning, we got the car packed and headed south, cutting the corner of New Mexico before stopping for the night in Lubbock, TX.   You may notice that our cargo box has a few more stickers (it had none, previously) - we've been busy! Alright, off to bed before the last push into Austin tomorrow.  TTFN

Night at the Playground

Our last not-crazy night in Denver, so we went out to star gaze and have some night fun at the playground. When we get back and decide where to live, a neighborhood playground is an absolute must. Or we need to do some additions to the play house if we stay.  Also, man does this Pixel phone take amazing night photos!  Unreal! Tomorrow, packing in earnest for an AM departure on Saturday down to Texas. Exciting!  TTFN

Preparations for our next journey have begun

In 2 days, we'll be saying good bye to Denver after over a month here. We've really enjoyed our time, decided definitively that it is not where we'd want to move, but would love to come back for similar long periods of time.  Next stop, Austin, TX! Blogging may be light over the next couple of days as packing begins in earnest, but more to come.

Garden of the Gods is way overrated

That's it. That's the post.  What could be a cool spot is overcrowded and surrounded by sprawling mcmansions. Meh. Skip it.  We got a couple cool shots and GTFO. Disappointing.
